Kudos to our Summer Camp Participants!! June 19th - July 20th

Grace Hopper STEM Academy’s academic summer camp can start at the point where struggles begin and improve the skills needed for success. Students who are working at grade level have the opportunity to engage in hands on learning designed to promote collaboration and to stimulate the critical thinking skills necessary for success in high school and college. Advanced students will be exposed to a curriculum that integrates literature and informational text, with science, art and field trips designed to engage and enhance the learning experience of the whole child.

There is a nominal fee of $50.00. Students in need of after care until 4:00 PM will be assessed and additional $25.00 per week. Lunch and breakfast will be provided to students daily.

2016-17 GHSA Culminating Class

As Grace Hopper ended this school year we the administration, staff and school community wish our 8th grade culminating students the absolute best! Our young men and young women have had a stellar year and are now embarking on their next journey to high schools. High schools some of our students have been accepted to are: St. Mary's Academy, Verbum Dei High School, Junipero Serra High School, Pius X High School, Hawthorne Math and Science Academy, King Drew Medical Magnet High School, Southeast High School and more.
Grace Hopper STEM Academy sets the tone for a 'love of learning' and foster each student's innate curiosity and joy of discovery. As our 8th grade students enter high school they are encouraged to be innovative and inspired to become excellent inquisitors, scientific thinkers and responsible citizens who will be able to contribute globally with confidence. What is the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP)?
The LCAP is an important component of the LCFF. Under the LCFF all LEAs are required to prepare an LCAP, which describes how they intend to meet annual goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities identified pursuant to EC Section 52060(d). Local wellness policies are an important tool for parents, local educational agencies (LEAs) and school districts in promoting student wellness, preventing and reducing childhood obesity, and providing assurance that school meal nutrition guidelines meet the minimum federal school meal standards. At our next Parent Meeting we will share a template for the School Wellness Policy so that GHSA parents can voice and share their opinions during the creative stages of this process. Lets, brainstorm, write and approve this policy together!
