Since 2015 GHSA has built an ongoing and flourishing partnership with the Coalition for At-Risk Restoring Youth (Camp CARRY). Camp CARRY is a non-profit organization that offers classes in social skills, etiquette and grooming. They also offer self-esteem and self-reliance workshops conducted by mental health professionals. Students participate in seminars on making healthy nutritional choices, building healthy lifestyles, goal setting, acquiring personal finance skills and preparing for careers. Inter-twined within this curriculum are fun activities to broaden their horizons such as field trips to museums, cultural institutions, the beach, the mountains and amusement parks all free of charge. Camp CARRY meets one Saturday a month from September to May each year. The adults who bring their life experiences and expertise to Camp CARRY are all volunteers. Every year GHSA students are super excited about being a part of Camp CARRY and it continues to be an awesome experience for everyone involved.
